Thank you for the clarification!
Thanks Jim!! See you’re still helping me out!!!
Hope you are doing well!
Love this!! Happy Holidays!
FYI – this issue ended up being a file permission issue:
- First I removed the T to the smatdb file – chmod o-t cernerORU_SAVE.smatdb
- Second I added the w to the smatdb file – chmod u+w cernerORU_SAVE.smatdb
- Third I added the w to the smatdb-shm file – chmod u+w cernerORU_SAVE.smatdb-shm
- I restarted the process after each one of these changes to see if it was fixed.
I compared the file permissions to a smatdb that was working
We started receiving this error this afternoon. We are new to SMAT DB, so I’m not sure where to go with this. We tried running the clControl.tcl cleanup. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help!
The server is AIX – version 6.1
The client is on a Windows 7 Enterprise machine
version 6.0.2.0P
I hadn’t tried the test before, but when I did, I got “Failed to send message” (see attachment)
I’ve also attached the alert setup.
I do get other emails from the server, but not from within the Cloverleaf application.
Thanks for your help!
January 29, 2016 at 9:07 pm in reply to: 6.0.2 Client install on Windows 7 Enterprise-Tester hanging #83627My Network Administrators finally figured this out.
Under:
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
Inbound Rules
hciaccess was Blocked. They set this to “Allow the connection”
Now my tester is returning a result.
I’m only using it to access AIX and run commands. I will try the puTTY.
Thanks for your input!
We have a new pc with Windows 8, and are also having trouble installing the 5.8.5.0 patch. Has anyone found a way to get the patch to install correctly?
Thanks,
Gina
Do you know what is the next release that includes 2.7 variant? Do you have an idea of how long migrating would take?

I’m not familiar with HRL, I see that it lets you name segments, but I’m not sure how that would help with this? I’m also not great with tcl, I just do the basics.
I have a VRL set up with the data elements I need. I’m just not sure what the next step should be.
Thanks,
Gina
I have never dealt with anything like this. We have a restart script that we have been using for about 5 years, we schedule it in cron to start every night at midnight. Basically it creates a list of sites, and goes through each site, shuts down the processes, then restarts the process.
My problem is our site shutdowns and startups, whether initiated through the script or manually, are really sluggish. I have had to increase the timeout a couple of times now.
Does anyone have any idea why this would be? We are on version 5.3, on an AIX platform. I am hoping for a new server and cloverleaf upgrade this year, but need some help with this until them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
