X12 Routing

When setting the X12 TRXID determination, one can select X12. Another option might be to set up field routing which works.  If I were to want to just use X12 to route particular transaction sets, what would the route look like.

ADT_A04 for HL7

270 for X12 for example???

Something else.  Or does one not usually route by Transaction set for X12?
