      Hi folks,

Testing Cloverleaf 5.6 on AIX 5.3.

I’ve Hummingbird Exceed ver 10 running on my laptop.

Tried ‘hcismat &’ in my telnet session and got this:

      ~~START PASTE~~~

“Application initialization failed: couldn’t connect to display “nn.nnn.nn.nnn:0.0”

      invalid command name “setHciDirs”

         while executing

      “exec hciwish $scriptname”

         (“eval” body line 1)

         invoked from within

      “eval exec hciwish {$scriptname} $argv”

         (procedure “SMAT:main” line 81)

         invoked from within

      “SMAT:main [llength $argv] $argv”

         (file “/quovadx/qdx5.6/integrator/bin/hcismat” line 4609)

      ~~END PASTE~~~

      Any idea?

      TIA!

          Mystery solved.

          Firewall port blocked.

For the x-windows GUIs (like hcismat etc) to work, any idea what is the port that needs to be opened at the firewall? This is in the direction from the server to the client machine, right?

            My client IDE works fine.

            TIA!

              It’s the host server port.

The port for X is 6000.  For the direction, if you mean the Cloverleaf server to the PC running Xceed, then yes.  The X Window System has a counterintuitive definition of client and server.  Using that terminology Exceed is the server and hcismat is the client.
