Upgrading from 3.8.1P to 5.3 r2

Hi all,

I am on Windows 2003 and am running 3.8.1P. I am in the process of creating a testing plan to upgrade to 5.3 r2. I was hoping anyone out there could share any “issues” they may have encountered while upgrading.

  I’m currently planning the same upgrade on a Windows 2000 box. I understand that 5.3 can run on the same server as 3.8. I’m unsure whether 5.3 can be installed without bringing down the 3.8 interfaces, usually a reboot is called for after installation. Any Windows users care to share their upgrade experiences?

  Has anyone running Win2K tried to upgrade from QDX 3.8.1 to 5.3 but stayed on the same box? I’ve installed 5.3 and migrated our test site but when I bring up the test site, it crashes the production threads. 😥 Am I just having a bad day or is this a known issue?

  make sure the threads on the test site are not running on the same port numbers as in the production site.
