tilde delimiters in message

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

The original message is the following:  OBX.5 has multiple results delimited by tilde:

After Xlate, I get this.  I wanted to split OBX.5 into multiple OBXs.  Why do tilde(s) show up in the message?
