We just lost power in our datacenter.

So we had a hard crash.

When I got the system back the database was corrupt.

I would run “hcidbdump -r” and got can’t read chain.

Is there a way to recover what is in the database?

I have it all up and running. I tarred the database directory and did a dbinit -A. and everything is working fine.

We are on 5.5 Rev1. and on Aix 5.3.0.0.

      John,

Check out this posting to see the steps that you can run to try and rebuild the database chains:

      Hope this helps.

I don’t want to get your hopes up because my experience with a corrupt database due to a power failure is to kiss the messages in flight good-bye.

However, seeing that your error refers to not being able to read the chain here are a couple of commands you might try:

      keybuild rlog; dchain rlog

      keybuild elog; dchain elog
