Does anyone have a sign-off or scope sheet that they have their users complete before they move anything to LIVE.  (It could help with development as well.)  I have been having some “challenges” with scope creep lately and am not able to get much completed and off my plate because there is always “one last thing.”  Or after it goes into LIVE, they “discover” something wasn’t working.

    Thanks!

      Jaye,

While I have sign off included in the ‘marrying’ specification I use, that does not mean anything if the organizatoin is not committed to effective specification and testing – and – is willing to stand behind the concept that once something is in Production any new items require redevelopment.

Each organization will probably have some degree of adherence to the above.

Lately it seems to me there is the ‘Microsoft’ attitude – that is: ‘slap it into production and let the users tell us where are issues are’.

As you have discovered that is not a proper way to do business.

Unfortunately I am not sure a document alone will accomplish much change.

A big question – will your management stand behind you when the document is filled out and after the integration is in production it is discovered specs and testing were signed of on as merely a formality?
