Search by Sending Date range in SMAT

Greetings Cloverleafers!!!

I want to find all messages in SMAT within a specific time period. Then I tried to search by “Sending Date” range in SMAT when I chose “Add Specified Messages to View”. I put in the date range, ie. 06/01/2008 11:01:00 to 06/02/2008 15:01:00, I looked at the result and found the time in MSH.7 Date/Time of Message was not within that range.

My question is, is the search based on MSH.7?

  Hi Sam,
  
  Each message is storede with a date stamp in the IDX file and I ‘think’ it is this that is compared on a date search. so no search is done on dates in messages.
