QDX-5.3 rev 3 on AIX-5.2 problems??

Has anybody had any significant problems with installing QDX-5.3 rev3 on an AIX-5.2 platform?

Well,

We are on AIX 5.1 and we went live with QDX 5.3 and Rev3.

During the testing phase we did encounter several panics (SIGNAL 11). Quovadx put in

Rev 3. Patch.

Now we are on live in the last several days Engine panics due to SIGNAL -11 interrupt.

At this time of writing no one is able to address this issue.

I am using aix 5.2 Rev 5.3 with the Rev3 Patch and have been getting signal 11 panics and haven’t been able to get to the bottom of the problem.

did you ever find a way around this ?

Colin,

There is one parameter that may need to be set in the /etc/environments file that alleviates issues with sporadic panics; it is the parameter AIXTHREAD_MNRATIO=1:1  and applies to AIX 5.1 or >

I would check with Quovadx support in regards to this to validate that this is applicable to your situation.  They can provide you with the details.

Thanks for the response its much appreciated. I’ve made the change to the /etc/environment file stopped and started our entire lpar and have just started re running my messages. Hopefully this will sort out the problem

Failing this I suspect a screen dump will need to be sent to quovadx to ascertain whats happening

Hi,

our issue was resolved by QUOVADX. we had to edit the

NetConfig file and change as follows:

KEEPMSGONDISK 0

Have logged this with quovadx through our support

AIXTHREAD_MNRATIO set correctly

KEEPMSGONDISK 0 is set in the NetConfig

Hope I get a speedy resoloution to this

Hi Colin,

in the netconfig file you need to replace every entry for KEEPMSGONDISK. Most of them will have value 1 for it. You will need to replace it with zero.

The other thing is after making changes bounce the entire site.

All the KEEPMSGONDISK are at zero.

I run 2730 hl7 messages through the engine and 2727 get loaded into my database fine my process drops and I get a Thread 0 received signal 4

error now.

The three messages that didn’t get loaded are held in the recovery database ok as I have this enabled. When I start my process up again the other messages load no problem and are removed from the recovery database.

I have tested the three messages that initially don’y load together and individually and they load no problem.

There are never any entries in the error database.

I have to send all 2730 hl7 messages to get this error generated so i can send a log file and msg dump for quovadx.

I’m keeping faith that quovadx can get to the bottom of this.
