Persistent SNA RTIF Connection

I know I had the info somewhere but cannot find it.

Jim Cobane once provided me with how to make the RTIF Connection to SMS a persistent connection so they would not kick the legs out from under the session after timeout.

Seems Jim, like me, has slept several times and does not remember either

Can someone tell me how this is done so I can pass it on to a client?  As usual, SMS  is telling them it cannot be done.  But I know several users are doing it.

I think it entails some VTAM settings

Charlie if I remember correctly it had something to do with a “read timeout” setting in CICS.  I’ve slept since then too 🙂
