Is there any documentation available for using perl to manipulate data in any UPoCs?

      Dean,

The UPoC’s do not utilize Perl scripting.  If you want to execute a Perl script you will have to call the script from within Tcl or Java.

Typically, you can add ‘perl $path/scriptname’ to your Tcl script to execute a script.  May vary from platform to platform though.

Both of these languages are documented in the Manuals.

      Regards,

      Jonathan

Just curious if QDX will have to load the perl interpetor each time a perl script is called within Tcl?  (I suspect this is true.)

Also, just as one instance of the Tcl interpretor is loaded and reused within a translation thread, are there any future effors to do the same with the Perl interpretor?  This would be extremely helpful, as Perl has superb string handling features and could be used for UpoCs and pre/post calls within Xlates.
