Password sync between AS 400 and AD or Windows based systems

Has anyone attempted to sync password data through a Cloverleaf interface between two disparate systems?

Specifically looking to update passwords between our main frame and other Active Directory / Windows and Linux RedHat systems.

  Just curious, how would you get the changed password to Cloverleaf? When user changes password in Active directory what triggers sending new password to Cloverleaf?
  
  And how do you want to deliver username/password to AS400 for CHGUSRPRF – ftp seems the simplest?
