    Hello All,

    Windows 2000; qdx5.2.1 Rev2

Two days ago we installed a new PC with a wide-screen monitor to display the network monitor for our four sites.

We have batch files running on the server the cycle SMAT files and the process error and log files.  Since we moved to the separate PC monitor, the error and log files won’t cycle.  The SMAT files are cycling properly.

Yesterday I had to bring all threads and processes down and bounce the engine so that log files would cycle.   I have the same issue this morning, log files won’t cycle.  I’m not receiving much info in the log file when it fails:

        Attempting to cycle output file.

        Closing socket conneciton to monitord.

Unable to cycle output log file.

Does anyone have any ideas?  I’d hate to think I have to bounce the engine every morning to get the log files to cycle.

      Hi,

If its a new PC I assume its a new install of Cloverleaf as well. Is it something as simple as adding:

      netmon_auto_load_logs=false

to the [general] section of your client.ini on the new machine?

      Regards

      Garry

Your assumptions are correct – I’ll give that a try and see if it works.  Thank you very much for your reply.

Hi Garry, is there any documentation about the various settings in the client.ini and server.ini files?

      Thanks, Mike

      Hi,

I’ve asked that question before but not on this forum – I didn’t get a reply last time.

Quovadx – is there a list of parameters that can be tuned in the .ini. files?

      Regards

      Garry

Adding the statement to the client.ini and restarting the network monitor helped with the .log files, but not the .err files.  We did a planned reboot of the engine yesterday morning, and also bounced the monitor PC, now all the .log and .err files are being cycled.

      Thank you for the suggestion.
