    Hi,

I have a few utility routines that use msi data but whenever I run msiAttach in my scripts I get the message:

    ‘Couldn’t get hostname’

Does anyone know a way to suppress this message. My scripts run fine but I just find this addtional line annoying on my screendumps.

    Regards

    Garry

      Garry,

Have you tried a catch around the msiAttach?

      Hi Jim,

Yes – I’ve tried a number of different things including catch in various configs round the command. It doesn’t appear to be an error so catch doesn’t catch anything.

Could it be that msiAttach is not the problem and it is coming from somewhere else?

      Hi Michael,

No – I added some debug echo statements into my script and its denifitely the msiAttach that’s reporting the problem. This is on W2K so I was thinking it may be a host file issue as we don’t use them on Windows. Anybody got any thoughts on that?

This an anomaly of the msiAttach command and can be ignored.  The command was to be used to connect to memory on remote hosts.

This has been logged as a problem.

      Thanks Charlie,

Is it fixed in any current versions or is it still to be sorted?

      Regards
