Monitord connection lost

I’ve been setting up our new interface engine that scheduled to go online in a couple of days.  The new engine is on version 5.7 of Cloverleaf running on a virtual Windows 2003 server.

I have two production sites and I’ve been sending some data from the current engine to them.  Out of the blue, one site loses connection with monitord.  The other site is unaffected.

The afflicted site stays up for about a second before losing connection.  I’ve stopped the service, I’ve rebooted and just about everything else I can think of and it still crashes.  The logs don’t show any panics or crashes.  What am I missing?

I deleted the alert file I was working on and now the monitord stays connected, but stop threads.  This is weird.  Why would an alert cause a disconnection to monitord?
