Monitor Daemon Hanging

We are running QDXi 3.8.1P on AIX 5.2.  A couple times in the past week the Monitor Daemon will hang and all message processing for that site stops!  If I do an hcisitectl for that site it shows the monitor daemon running.  If I kill the monitor daemon and start it again everything picks back up again.  But I did confirm that when this happens our message processing does stop.  I get calls from the departments wondering what’s wrong with the interfaces.

Where do I start investigating what’s wrong?  There are no panics on any of the processes and I didn’t see anything strange in the hcimonitord.err or .log either.

The only thing I’ve changed lately is turned on the Recv 33 procs for passing messages between two processes in this site.

1. Go to $HCISITEDIR/exec/hcimonitord

look in the hcimonitord.err and log file. Most of the time you will have clue for it.

2. Go the processes directory. look the .log file. I am not sure if you have detail log or standard log.
