I am trying to do something simple to a DFT_P03 message that is received on Cloverleaf before sending to the receiving system.

I need to put CL in FT1-13.1 and FT1-16.1.  I am doing that via an xlate.  I have done something like this many times before.  I am not sure why this time it is an issue.

When I run my xlate using a test message through the Testing Tool, I get an error message that the PID and FT1 segments are out of order for the message type DFT_P03.  The structure looks fine to me.  Any ideas?

The message sent from the sending system has the follwing structure:

    MSH

    PID

    FT1

    Thanks,

    Ariba

      Ariba,

Check your variant to see if you have the EVN segment set up as required or optional.  If it is set up as required and you don’t get an EVN segment in the inbound message, it will throw that error.

      Hope this helps…

      Tom,

You are awesome!!  You were exactly right.  My variant had the EVN segment required.  Once I made it optional, the error went away and I see the xlate is doing what I want it to do in the FT1 segment.

Thanks for that information!  You have made my Friday!!!! 🙂
