high use of physical memory

We are running Cloverleaf 5.4.1 rev1 and AIX 5.3 ML5.

We’ve been having some performance issues and so I used the nmon command to check the memory usage.  It was in the high 90%.  I thought this was pretty high, but when I check our test system at the same level of Cloverleaf and AIX and on an identical server, it’s running just as high with not nearly as many messages.  Is this normal?  Does the engine grab all available memory to use?

What is everyone with a similar system running at?

We are running Cloverleaf Integrator 5.4.1 REV2 on AIX5.2 right now.

The Revision 2 patch fixes some memory leaks and a few other problems.

You might want to apply the Revision 2 and see if your memory issues clear up.

I did the opposite.  We applied 5.4.1 rev2 under AIX 5.2 about a month ago and we got so far behind that we had to back out the patch.  As soon as we did we started catching back up.  We’ve been doing some simulation testing on our test engine and extreme high I/O.    We sent our site to R&D and they did testing and got similar results.  In the meantime we’ve upgraded our OS to 5.3 .
