Help with large SMAT file???

Hello,

I am having a hard time trying to resend messages that are contained within a very large SMAT file.  The file never loads.

Is there any way to break down the file using a tool(tcl)?  The thread is an ADT thread and I am only interest in resending A08’s.

What OS are you using on the server?  I know our SA wrote some AIX korn scripts for me that extracted a message from the .msg file.

Also, are you trying to open the SMAT from a client or from the server?

Attached is a little utility written to read the SMAT file and produce a newline terminated output file; you can supply a ‘regular expression’ to extract specific messages (just like in SMAT).

I have one as well – isn’t this jolly:-) Mine was a toy I wrote as an exercise – if you want it then you can find it in the Tcl script area.

Its interesting to note that you all appear to have the same problem with SMAT as I do and have written your own utilities as workarounds.

Yep.  SMAT is one of those tools that needs some improvement, and Quovadx is well aware of it.  Until then, we’ll just keep trading code!

My findsmat had a little bug in it – made some changes to it yesterday.  Here is the fixed version.
