what is the best way to allow only the hci userid to run hci commands?

we are having issues with the hci user timing out, and then an individual will run an hci command under their own user id, and it is causing permissions issues.  we would like to limit the hci commands to only the hci userid.

    thanks

I am assuming this on Unix.

chmod 700 * in /hci/rootx.x.x/bin/ as user hci

or remove the /hci bin directoris out of the PATH variable in the user’s environment variable

      env |egrep “SHELL=|^PATH=”

then change the appropriate rc file for your shell

      What is an “rc” file?

I’m assuming they don’t mean Royal Crown file.  More than likely it means a file like the  “.kshrc” file.

So, how does that fit the statement, “run the appropriate rc file”?  That makes it sound like there are more than one.
