Has anyone had success installing QDX in Ubuntu? If so, how’d you get it running? I am aware that Fedora is the only linux OS supported, but we don’t run that distro at the end user level. Can anyone help?
I’ve tinker with it and have successfully executed hciaccess, but it was a hassle. I had to set the HCIROOT in .profile for the hci user. In my case, I installed qdx in /quovadx/qdx5.5/integrator/
Next, I had to manually untar the hci.tgz file from the cdrom to /quovadx/qdx5.5/integrator/
I haven’t successfully installed the client only portion through the install process.
I have been able to install host and client using the documentation.
I just reinstalled Ubuntu Feisty and attempted to trace the steps that I took in order to get Cloverleaf installed. If you install the Host and the Server then the installation wasn’t bad, but if you install “Client Only”, then that’s when the fun begins.
That being said, I can officially say that I have installed Cloverleaf 5.5 on Ubuntu 7.04. Also, I can connect to my Centos 4.3 server but I haven’t tried anything else.
I will need to revisit my chicken scratch and create some detailed documents on how I did this. I will have it posted sometime next week. I hope someone will be able to take it and modify it so that the install process is smoother and easier!
First, use this document at your own risk and I’m not liable for anything that will, can, should, and/or shouldn’t happen when you use this guide.
I decided to go ahead and post what I had so far on the Ubuntu install. I haven’t had a chance to put the steps in logical order or do a thorough review. I’m currently working on some other important stuff. When I have time, I’ll re-write the the procedure.
Feel free to modify the document but please share with everyone else. I’ll try to answer any questions that you may have.
I did have it working at one point. I had a temporary license that expired some back in Oct./Nov. I believe I still have the application installed on my CentOS box. I am running CentOS 4.3 I believe.
