GM 6.0 installation on vertual machine

We are running our GM 6.0 on the window server right now and are trying to move to the virtual machine. I tried to run an EXE and received this error:

  Did you download the windows installer? Sounds like you may have downloaded the Linux installer.

  we used the same installer, we ran originally for production GM window server.
