Getting Fetch Failure error in Xlate

I am getting an Xlate Fetch Failure on IF command. I am not getting every time, but alot. I am unsure what the error means since i cant pinpoint why it’s happening.

  Attending Physician field is a multiple component field. When there is more than one component the IF as written will fail.
  
  What I do is to just check the first component for @null (here the Doc ID is always there if there is doc info – otherwise if the entire field is null, the Doc ID – first component – is always null.
