First, Id like to say thank you for providing clovertech. It is indeed a valuable resource.

With that said, it would be nice to get things updated. My particular problem is that I’m positive the answer is on here somewhere, but the search is so terrible that I can never find anything.

    A little history:

This site uses phpbb2. phpbb2 originally came out in 04/2002, the last version was released in 02/2008, and in 01/2009 support ended.

phpbb3 came out in 12/2007. And the current version is 3.1.3.

    May I suggest:

    1. The preferred upgrade nowadays is a stack exchange clone. Stackoverflow has changed the way developers develop and get help. I think this community could greatly benefit from leveraging similar software. There are a variety of options, written in a variety of languages

    2. If you must stick with the forum format then phpbb3 and discourse are much better options. Discourse is ajaxed, and mobile friendly.

    Thoughts?
