ERROR: Mismatched IR Tags

Greetings Cloverleafers!!!  (QDXi 5.2 on AIX)

I got this “Mismatched IR Tags” when I was testing an ITERATION on the OBR segment: 2(%g1).1(0).0(0).OBR -> 2(%g1).1(0).0(0).OBR, can anyone tell me what’s wrong?

Hi Sam,

it means that the path you are copying with (2(0).1(0).0(0).OBR) doesn’t actually exist in one of the variants that you are using in your translate.

If you didn’t use the GUI to select both the input and the output path for the OBR copy, try doing that to get the basic path down right before you put in your iteration variable.

I goofed when looking at your output. It looks like the PV1 segment is the segment not getting copied across, so the path not matching the variant problem is probably there.

Thanks for your reply! I actually did everything using the GUI.

I used a wrong sample file. But after I changed to a correct file, it still gives me the error. The error goes away if I take away the OBR (I put both ORC and OBR under the ITERATION) … WHY???

The paths I am copying exist on both variants of HL7..

Sam,

Since you mention both variants, if the input and output variant differ in how the OBR is defined I’ll speculate that the path that can’t be found is relating to a specific field within the PATHCOPY.

I can’t say I’ve ever had IR tags problems with PATHCOPY, but when I’ve had the mismatched tags happen in a COPY operation the field does not get written to the output.

Maybe make a test message with every field in the OBR populated, (OBR|1|2|3|4|5…) and see which fields (if any) don’t cross over.

Thanks for your suggestion, test it with a full OBR segment will help figure out the problem. But as I remember, PATHCOPY only copies those fields that are common in both input and output?
