Which drop down – NetConfig, NetMonitor, Xlate…? email: jim.kosloskey@jim-kosloskey.com 29+ years Cloverleaf, 59 years IT - old fart.

Try going to the $HCISITEDIR/tclprocs directory where the proc you created should be located and doing mktclindex. Then restart the IDE and see if it shows up.

The reason I asked which drop down has to do with how to fix the issue. If the drop down was in the Xlate (as you indicated) or in the NetConfig, then making sure the proc is in the tclIndex file (and doing a mktclinex if it is not) will probably resolve the issue.
However, if the proc does not show up in the NetMonitor pull down (Reload button on the Full container) then the proc could still be in the tclIndex file but not in memory. This particularly happens when a new proc is written after a particular process is running and now you would like to make use of it.
In that case, you could select the Reindex button of the Full Container and that will rebuild the in memory index of available procs (built from the tclIndex files). Then a reload should include the new proc.

Jim I saw your entry and tried a reindex on a running proc and found that the tcl proc is still not listed for the either the Netconfig nor the testing tool though I see it in the tclIndex file of the tclprocs for the site in question. Any other suggestions? Thanks,

Virginia,
For the NetConfig if you just updated the tclIndex, I believe you need to exit out of the NetConfig then Open it back up. I believe the tclIndex is acquired at startup of the NetConfig Tool.
As for the testing tool, I am not sure and will need to investigate when I have time (I do not use the tester for my Tps code) but I think that the same is true. So if you have the tester open then create a new proc and do the mktclindex, you could need to stop the tester then restart so that it can pick up the updated index.
What release of Cloverleaf(R)?

Virgina, We are on Cloverleaf 5.6.
I just tested having the NetConfig open, creating a new proc (site specific), did the mktclindex, checked the tclIndex file to make sure the proc was listed there, then looked at the pull-down in the NetConfig and the new proc was listed.
I thought on our prior release (5.4) I needed to stop and start the NetConfig in order to refresh the list but on 5.6 I do not.
I will take a look at the tester when I have time.

Hi,
We are on 5.7. I have not had issues with this in the past. It has been a matter of reindexing and the proc is there. I plan on off hours to bring the site down and back up – but wanted to see if there was something I might be missing. Thanks,

Virginia,
Reindexing should only be needed for the NetMonotir not the NetConfig or tester.
Once you have reindexed and reloaded in the NetMonitor, there really is no need to shut the site down as the index and proc are in memory. The next time the process cycles (whenever that is) it will automatically rebuild the index.
