Display blacks out or machine locks up when running 5.6 IDE

We upgraded from 5.2 to 5.6 last week. No server issues but I’m having a problem with the display on the laptop I run the IDE on going blank or the machine locking up when the Network Monitor is running. It’s an HP/Compaq nc8430 (2 Ghz processor with a gig of RAM) running WinXp Pro, SP 2. I never had problems running this before. Nothing else runs on the machine. I suppose this could mean the machine’s starting to die on me but the timing seems like it’s more than a coincidence.

Note that this is McKesson’s client install, not HVs.

Has anyone else seen this? If so, do you have any suggestions?

  I am running on a Dell laptop (Cloverleaf 5.6 in test) Win/XP Pro Svcpk 3 1.83 GHz procesor with 504 MB RAM and I don’t see the blackout you speak of and I am running full time over a VPN.
