Creating a new medication using RDE^O01 HL7 message

Hi,

I’m looking into creating a new medication for a patient using RDE^O01 message (HL7 2.x). I was looking at EPIC documentation on this message and it says like

“The Incoming External Outpatient Medication Orders interface converts HL7-formatted medication order information to a format that can be manually reconciled in Epic.” – what this means?

Does anyone created medications using HL7 messages from a 3rd party application? Please let me know

I’m trying to understand the medication workflow and whether I’ll be able to automate the medication creation in EHR/EMR systems like EPIC, Cerner
