Cloverleaf 5.8

Can anyone comment on the progress with Cloverleaf 5.8?  I have been informed that we have the go-ahead to upgrade over the 2010 calendar year and we would like to go to 5.8 (we are on 5.6 now).

Greetings,

By no means anything official here, but we completed a Beta evaluation of the 5.8 intergrator (we are on AIX5.3 CIS5.6R2) and from what we know it is now in QA status (changes frozen).

I urge you however to build in plenty of time to thoroughly test your integration;  there are extensive changes that affect HL7 variants, routing, and multithreading capabilities among other changes/enhancements.

In my opinion this is a major change to the integrator and requires much thought and analysis on what you want to turn on and what you may wish to leave as is until later.

We also plan to upgrade to 5.8…from 5.5 rev 1.

Those that have Beta Tested.  What did you notice with Variant differences?  Added fields?  Segments?  Other?

To those planning to upgrade to CIS5.8:

I urge you to read the Release Notes and install notes carefully and thoroughly.   For HL7 variants you will need to make a decision on whether or not to allow your variants to be “fixed” or remain intact with the balance of HL7 templates NOT used to be “fixed”.

A lot of bells and whistles.

Contact Cloverleaf support to get the latest Release Notes for CIS5.8.

April 2010 was to be the availability date for this release.

Unfortunately I only have the hard copy beta notes at our shop.

Release notes will be posted when 5.8 is GA.  As soon as this happens I’ll post all the documentation to the doc forum.
