Anyone know how the upocindex file gets entries removed?

I created and STRING Function type and decided after testing (worked fine by the way) I did not want that function. I deleted the underlying proc and when I edit via another proc via the GUI, the tclIndex gets updated but the reference remains in the upocindex.

Is that supposed to also automatically get modified via the GUI edit, or is there an equivalent to mktclindex command, or do I need to edit the upocindex file to remove the entry?

    Thanks

mktclindex will update both tclIndex and .upocindex.   This sounds like a bug.

I deleted the entry manually from upocindex. I will test that once again in a more controlled way and report back if I see anything different. Just in case, in the heat of battle, I did not do things as I should have.

So, while in a controlled state I will:

      1. Create a STRING Function proc.
      2. Check the upocindex to assure an entry (I am sure that works).
      3. Delete the STRING Function proc.
      4. Check the upocindex to assure the entry has been deleted or not.

Update… Not a bug in the software – a bug in the user.

So apparently from the GUI after deleting the proc, I did not do a save from the GUI on another proc to cause mktclindex to run.

I was sure I manually ran mktclindex before and the deleted proc still existed in upocindex but I must have either ran it in a different tcprocs directory or did not run it at the right point. I had a lot going on at that stage of the day.

So, at this point, all is good.
