BLOB within XML?

At OhioHealth we have a home grown results repository that gets most of its data through Cloverleaf.

The programmers came to me and said that they want to receive transcriptions from an application call “Sleep Study” and wondered if we could handle BLOBs within XML messages.  (That’s all the info I could get from them – no documentation available yet)

Is this possible and has anyone done anything like this?

Sure, you can write enough TCL to do anything 😉

If you don’t have to translate the message then you don’t need to know what format the message uses, you’ll just use raw static routes and push the message where it needs to go.

If you have to do something with the blob and you’re able to create the xml spec in Cloverleaf, the blob should just be a field.
