What causes the %R repeat count variable to reset?  If I set the repeat setting from 1 to 10 Max, what can reset in the middle before the Max is obtained?  When Max is reached, for how long will it not repeat before that alert becomes functional again?  If I alert 10 times, when is the alert available again? Does it reset after a period of time? Does it reset if the alert condition clears?

If I alert once a minute for 10 minutes with repeat max set to 10, on the 5th alert, I bounce the thread, then if the condition still exists I generate a ticket on the 7th alert, I need to know the reliability or nature of this counter. Any help is appreciated…

Alerts reset when the condition that caused the alert is no longer true

I undertsand we can use the % variables in the email alert action. Is there any way to insert such things as the current date and time or to trim down or programatically make use of what we get from the alert variables.

Should have mentioned you can call a proc with %A%, %R%, etc as a variable and diddle with it ther.  I do that a lot
