We are sending ADT messages to a foreign system. The Ack’s coming back from the destintion system don’t seem to have any unique msg id’s. How does cloverleaf know the acknowledgment received was for the current message sent and not a message previously sent? Based on the validate_hl7ack proc it doesn’t do any checking. Is there a way to tell cloverleaf to enforce message acknowledgement validation?

When you have Await Replies set, the engine will send a message and wait for the reply to that message. The reply will either come in or it will time out. No other messages can be sent while the engine is waiting a reply. Therefore you know the ACK is for the message awaiting the reply. I hope this helps.
