5.8 saved message file format question

      We’ve got some utilities that read .msg and .idx files. The format changed slightly in 5.8. I think I’ve figured out the changes that affect me, but I wanted to verify something.

      It looks like there are now three fields in the .IDX that affect length. Previously there was only one (LENGTH). Now there is also DRIVERCTL and USERDATA. These appear to be the length of the DRIVERCTL and USERDATA metadata that is in the .msg file. Does this sound right?

          Ok, I should have told myself to RTFM.

          There’s a section in the 5.8 manual called “Saved Message Format”. It lists the five new variable length fields: DESTCONN, ORIGDESTCONN, DATAFMT, SEPCHARS, DRIVERCTL and USERDATA.
