Is it the vendor that is saying use two ADT^A01 messages?
If so it may be that is the way their system works. Some systems are not sensitive to receiving multiple admits for the same patient (one for the original admit another as part of a ‘bed swap’).
Basically I try to find out what the vendor wnats for their system first. If they don’t seem to know, then I suggest alternatives.
