I was able to install the 5.8 client just fine on Windows 8 and it runs fine but I cannot install the patch (install_patch.cmd). I can’t figure out how to change the compatibility on it but I don’t know that it would work anyway because you have to install it via command line.

Has anyone gotten this patch installed for Windows 8?

Also, what ramifications are there if I run just the 5.8 client?

Lately, when i try to use the /dev/null solution in 5.8 on Linux, I get messages piling up on the outbound thread. They won’t ever go to the “bit bucket”. Anyone else have that problem?
