Do you run Cloverleaf on Windows by any chance? If so are you able to use Tclodbc on x64? We’ve been using tclodbc for a few years but now we are upgrading to Cloverleaf 6.2 and it runs in x64 bit process, so tclodbc doesn’t load anymore.

We just switched over to Epic from Paragon this past weekend and today is our first weekday with Epic.

We upgraded from 5.7 on Win 2003 to 6.1.1 on Win 2008(test)/Win 2012 (prod) a few months ago.

I agree with James, 6.0, 6.1.0 had some problems, better go 6.1.1.

We had to change our code to use SQLite instead of GDBM. New 6.1.1 is much more stable than 5.7 (we skipped 5.8, so I can’t compare with with it)

I figured that I will try when (and if) I have more time to play. For now I settled on saving data in Tcl using TclODBC.

We are switching to EPIC from Paragon next spring and with that away go a lot of our in-house applications that uses direct access to Paragon database in real time.

I haven’t heard about Epic Data Handbook and I would be interested to see what APIs are available.

How do you get a cope of the handbook?

I don’t see msgType. Is the uppercase “REPLY” in the beginning a value of msgType that you didn’t paste?

You can specify Directory Parse and Deletion Tcl procedure(s) in fileset local configuration.

Both will receive list of the files in run mode.

Directory parse will run in fileset_ibdirparse context, Deletion in fileset_ibdel context.

Last night my interface colleague looked through logs on the receiving system and found that it did sent replies. For some reason though Cloverleaf didn’t receive them – we can’t find them in the logs or error database. Weird.

Probably need to put wireshark onto that.

We actually started with 10 seconds timeout, then increased to 20, then 45 and an hour ago to 60.

It still happens no matter what. I just increased it to 120 but my hopes are low.

I guess you are right and setting it to -1 won’t make the matter any worse. The effect will be pretty much the same.

Just to be clear – my example is for tclodbc library.

You have to add “package require tclodbc” to use it. From your code it looks like you use a different library

I use tclodbc to run queries against SQL Server 2008 and I don’t use ODBC System Data Source.

Are you arranging them in the NetConfig display or Net Monitor? If you click Save in NetConfig I think in 5.7 it saves the view as default view (dflt.mvw). If you Save from Network Monitor you can choose Save As to create different views.

After you saved the view make sure you open the one that you saved (File –> Open…).

You can do it by enclosing comma separated list of emails in double quotes, so your TO statement will look like:

To add to Jim’s 3rd option – we split long MDM messages that we send to one of our vendors into 2 or more messages using continuation pointer in MSH-14 and ADD and DSC segments. Of course the receiving system should be able to receive such messages.

In earlier versions you’ll have to use Tcl

I do access database from Cloverleaf for several different tasks (not exactly to xref order codes but I don’t see any difference).

I use Tclodbc package to query some tables in our HIS (MS SQL Server).

I also populate gdbm tables in some threads to store/get some data from HL7 messages.
