I got it working, thanks to your help.  I completely rewrote the script and the NetConfig.  I would never have thought to use the msgmetaset $mh SKIPXLT 1 and the return “{SEND $mh}”.  I’ll certainly add these to my toolbox.

I inherited the interface and this script from a co-worker who left before I could go over it in detail.  It’s always fun to try and fix someone else’s code, especially when you’re told it works fine but have seen no proof.  I appreciate the tips, and I’ll implement them and let you know how it goes.  Thanks Charlie!

It’s good to know, and I appreciate the input.  I did notice that some of the commands were different and went digging for some sort of cheat sheet to tell me what changed.  I know our infrastructure guys were happy to put our new servers on a current Red Hat release.

            Kevin,

Just curious, what are you using the TK for?

              Hi Peter,

We’ve been working on 6.1.2 for a few months now, but we didn’t do a regular migration, but instead have slowly been building new in it.  So far, I think it’s a great improvement over 5.8, but I suppose I haven’t gotten too far into the weeds yet.  The GUI does take a bit to get used to, but it’s growing on me.  I love the SMAT DB and the Database tools so far.

We are on RHEL 7.1 OS VMs.
