<p>It&#8217;s under linux.</p>
<p>Found out the reason was Cloverleaf 6.1 is using the hostname to make the socket connection for routing between processes.</p>
<p>When we had the updates done, the server IP address was changed, but the hosts file hadn&#8217;t been updated with the new IP address, so was trying to talk to the old IP.</p>

<p>Currently we have a couple of cloverleaf sites that need to route between processes.</p>
<p>We recently had extra firewall rules added, which broke the routing between the processes, because the routing appears to make a tcp socket connection using the primary IP address rather than localhost.</p>

If they are executed by another user, it may create the file under the wrong user, and cannot be deleted due to permissions on the file.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s best to ensure the exec folders are read only for other users to prevent accidentally creating files under the wrong user.</p>

for some reason the hcisiteinit ignores these parameters.</p>

In our case we need the io latency to be below 10ms. If it bumps up past this threshold, we start seeing slowdowns in throughput.</p>
<p>If you keep logs of the server activity, it&#8217;ll show higher than normal io wait if this occurs.</p>

<p>If you only need to get a new session id on startup or predefined intervals, you could also save the session id somewhere, then use the TPS Outbound Data (sms_ob_data) to check if the session id is ok, then use OVER as per David&#8217;s message. I believe this skips the call to get the session id.</p>

<p>The problem is that the tcl parser assumes the text is in utf-8 format. So when another encoding is used, the data is corrupted.</p>

<p>There is a script that runs as a cron job that executes a tcl script which can set the environment using hcisetenv and calls msiAttach/msiGetStatSample.<br />
This was using the 5.8 version of hcitcl, which apparently is incompatible with 6.1 for these calls.<br />

<p>I&#8217;m just a little curious about the consequences of using SMATDB over the flat files.</p>
<p>Currently we have jobs that run nightly to cycle the smat files, gzip them up and archive them. At present this goes back indefinitly, so we can still get information from 2000 if required.<br />
