        We just integrated SCC with STAR.  It has been a challenge; however, any lab integration can get a little crazy, especially the results.

          Our organization is like Michael’s.

          We actually “own” the IB/OB lines on the systems that connect to the interface engine.

          It’s more work, but we detect and solve problems very quickly.

          We are a small shop so the resources you would expect to administer the interfaces are happy we perform the task.

            At my hospital, we receive $125 for being on-call 128 hours in a week.

            Some weeks we get no calls and some weeks we get a few.  Generally, our problems are with systems that connect with the interface engine.  The engine itself has goes down and requires intervention about once every six months or so.
