I wouldn&#8217;t recommend your pattern. Acknowledgements are going to be going over these interfaces as well, and it seems like they&#8217;re going to get mixed up with the messages.</p>

It should add messages to the process log to show you if the message has been modified, and if the msgdump output isn&#8217;t showing up it would indicate a problem getting your interface to run the script (not applied in the GUI or process not restarted).</p>

I think you can &#8220;reload procedure&#8221; through the gui to apply your change, but I always just restart the process where the proc is getting run.</p>

The decode will ignore them, and they shouldn&#8217;t affect your field lookups since they are using r and | as delimiters. As you pointed out, you need to have &lt;code&gt;PATH&lt;/code&gt; and &lt;code&gt;LD_LIBRARY_PATH&lt;/code&gt; updated to include the cpython folder. It looks like I&#8217;m using version 3.8.12 which was referred to in one of the install guides, and it works. I&#8217;m currently on Cloverleaf 2022.09.03.</p>

You could potentially not put the holiday check in your alert rules but add it to the alert action. So if you have a script you&#8217;re calling to deliver the alert (email, calling a service, etc.), you could add something to that script to check for holidays before delivering the alert.</p>
