Just a thought, but might it possible to put an xlate in place of the tcl to accomplish the same thing? I converted a lot of tcl to xlates, because I find xlates easier to update.
Hi Chad,
I have also worked with Cloverleaf for quite awhile and accomplish most challenges using creative xlates, brief tcl and the other tools available within those xlates. When it’s been necessary to use tcl, I have been grateful for what has been shared on this site.
Funny… I have been working on QDX for many years, and never heard this theory, until six months ago. I have managed many cross process threads, without jumping hoops, without these identifiable issues.
I have most processes set up as non-cross processes for the ease of switching a process to a back up site, if one of the characters is misbehaving.
So if I have a corrupt thread, or add something new, that is not behaving as I expected, I can stop that process and start it on my back up site, until I can trouble-shoot that process problem.
This has proven, time and again, to be a great asset of non-cross process threading.
My two cents.
Thanks. And we will, check everything over thoroughly.
I do see that this is to send the email out directly. I would rather find out if I can add the resulting VRL to my email alert. Please advise. Thanks.
I can pull the specific data into a VRL, can i add that VRL data to an alert, or is this in place of the alert email to send outbound directly? Thanks.
Thanks So Much !
Good catch, I was going off an old post from Dennis that had the dates stored as variables, but that is a valid point.
Yes, I would appreciate the tcl. thanks.
I have been in this particular position just 6 months. In that time I have re-worked old xlates, tcls, and formats, to eliminate numerous standing issues, and resolved department issues. I have move the engine from a non compliant to compliant Op sys and gone from 5.7 to 5.7.3. Thanks Charlie..believe me…. I am working on it… 🙂 Hi, We are running 5.7.3 and don’t see an option for Encapsulated mode for TCP/IP. How does one define it? Thank you.
That sounds like a good idea, except now I need help with a TPS that will send the email… any suggestions?
So the condition is that any message that passes through would mean it is missing the medical record and/or account number, so the email should contain the EVN data of the date time, user, and medical record number, if present. Otherwise, I need something else to id the patient record obscurely… hum…Thanks…
Has anyone pulled message content into an alert? I have a bad message thread where anything going through there, qualifies for a correction. I would like to be able to have that data in the alert. Thanks in advance !
Hi, it may be an oldie, but I have am familiar with using these. May I get a copy of these from someone that Charlie wrote in 2001? Will it work with 5.7.3? Thanks.
I certainly can think of some alerts we should be getting from the White House… but that’s a subject for another time 😉
Thanks!
I have approached this by translating the patient data to file on one valid test patient. It keeps from getting live patients in those systems that do have a test area and makes looking up results easier. -
