Hello.  We are looking at using Zerto to replicate Cloverleaf Linux VMware VM across data centers for DR purposes.

I found a locked thread from 2018 on Zerto here:

      Zerto server replication

Today, is anyone actively using Zerto to replicate Cloverleaf Linux VMware Vms across data centers for DR?

Looking for additional feedback on pros or cons, etc.

      Thanks.

We’re doing this. It’s working well for us. We do failovers manually, but it is very fast.

Thanks, David.   In the thread from 2018, another member indicated “Requires clean up before restarting…”

By chance, do you have any additional guidance or specifics regarding doing manual failovers? I’m not the Cloverleaf admin, but might be good for our systems teams to be aware, etc.

            Thanks again.

I’m not sure what the other member meant by “requires clean up”. We haven’t had to use it to recover from a disaster yet. We do regular failover testing, but we do a clean shutdown of the first server before we fail over. According to our admins, if we didn’t do this it would be equivalent to bringing the system back up after a power failure while the system was running.

I would recommend that you make sure that your system startup scripts work correctly. E.g. make sure that “systemctl stop cloverleaf-hostserver.service” stops your sites cleanly.

Other than that, I don’t think there’s anything special about Cloverleaf that would be different than any other software that’s managed by Zerto.
