      Hello,

I configured inbound 271 test connection with pdl-tcpip. I get “match phrase basic-msg rejected” error on the log when sending system sends a test message.

I turned on EO pdl and this is the output. Can someone explain to me what the issue is and how to fix them?

It looks like the sender is ending the messages with 1c 0b instead of 1c 0d.

I haven’t done much with X12 interfaces, but it seems unusual to be using HL7 lower layer protocol with non-HL7 messages.

Yup mlp can be used with X12 – there is no requirement I am aware of to use any specific encapsulation. So length encoded is valid as well.

The only condition is that both trading parners agree.

That said Dave has indicated what is causing the issue – get the trading partner to agree to do it right or use another encapsulation technique you both can agree on.

I had the sending system fix the issue and it resolved. Thank you David and Jim.
