We are looking into moving from a windows OS to Linux.
We have a quote for a windows cluster environment and Linux cluster.
The quote for Linux is about 15k more. I am curious about where the savings are with Linux.
I’m also not sure why a Linux cluster would be more expensive.
Here’s an idea. Buy the Windows cluster, wipe the hard drive, and install CentOS Linux for free. Then sell the Windows licenses on Craigslist.
