I have a new PC fresh install of windows 7, I tried to install cloverleaf 5.7Rev2 and it thinks it is installing on a windows 8 platform and wants to install Cloverleaf as a host server. “WRONG”
i am unable to get cloverleaf 5.7 Rev2 to install as a client on a fresh new install of windows 7 on a new PC.
BUT
If cloverleaf 5.7 Rev2 client is already installed and you upgrade to windows 7, Cloverleaf 5.7Rev2 client still works no issues.
Contact your Cloverleaf rep. They have a Win7 install for 5.7 that they can send to you. You’ll still the need the rev2 patch, but you’ll need to modify the install_patch.cmd to make it think you’re installing in a WinXP env.
I’ve installed this on several Win7 enterprise PC’s without issue.
To install the 5.7 client on a Windows 7 PC you need to specify that it be installed on an XP SP3 platform at install time. This is known as “compatibility mode”. We had the same issues and that did the trick.
We are running dual roots and have to keep 5.7R2 around for while.
I think you change the properties once you click on the install.exe.
Sorry… not Windows savvy but it is not rocket science to set that mode.
Good luck!
