We are currently running Cloverleaf 5.8.3 on AIX 6.1 TL5 and we are looking to upgrade to Cloverleaf 6.0 but want to run it in parallel during the migration.  According to Infor techs, Cloverleaf 6.0 has been qualified for AIX 6.1 TL6 and 7.1 TL0.  Has anyone out there run Cloverleaf 5.8.3 on AIX 6.1 TL6 or 7.1 TL0?

      Thanks,

      Christopher Wells

          Greetings,

We have been running 5.8.5.0 (soon to apply Revision 6) in both our production and test/dev servers (virtualized).

We are currently at AIX 6.1 TL 7 SP4.

5.8 is certified to AIX 6.1 TL1.  You can go higher in the maintenance levels.

6.0 is certified for AIX 7.1 TL1 (if I recall correctly from some release notes) but not (!) 5.8.  I would think it should run on the AIX 6 OS level.

          Confirm with INFOR support.

We have not evaluated 6.0 yet but we did run both 5.7R2 and 5.8.5.0

in parallel BUT (!) needed to be concerned with the AIX shared memory and semaphore regions.  5.8 uses more memory versus 5.7 so we had

to be sure to always start the 5.8 engines first to get the OS to allocate for user = hci (engine account) the required memory regions.

Then start the 5.7 engines afterwards.

So check those Release notes and confirm that you do not have to worry about that problem between 5.8 and 6.0.
