We’re going to be implementing an X12 850 interface between our materials management system and Cerner.  I’ve done very little with X12 interfaces period and have never done one on Cloverleaf.  I believe the version is 00204 (the specs say ISA.12 is 00204 so I assume that’s the version).  I’m not sure I’m going to have to do any xlates but if I do, I don’t see an X12 850 version that’s lower than 003020 in the X12 Configurator.  If I do need to do xlates, is it possible to get a 00204 format from somewhere or would I just create a variant that matches the specs?

          Jim,

That is an older version but still in use.

You can probably start with the oldest you have and then make that a new variant and modify as needed.

I would strongly suggest you get the Implementation Guide for the 850 Transaction set (Washington Publishing or possibly ANSI X12 web site being so old) so that you know how the variant should absolutely be built.

Then use the Companion Guide from the vendor.

For X12 in Cloverleaf you will need to strip off the envelope(s) inbound then place them again outbound. There are provided procs for that $HCIROOT/tclprocs/edi.lib is where they are if I recall – they are also documented in help.
