Currently we have cloverleaf 6.0 and our OS is AIX. We have 6 non-prod sites and 1 prod. We are building a new server to load Linux on.

I was told by Infor to load my OS first.  The next step is where I am somewhat confused. What would be the next step(s):

      1) COPY cloverleaf 6.0 to the new server? If we do that, how do we import all of the sites over, (both prod and non-prod)?  Please keep in mind that we would be going from AIX to Linux, so wouldn

          High level:

1: You’ll want to install CL6.2 on the new linux server, not copy it.

2: Request the new license and put that in the “vers” directory

3: tar up your sites in AIX, and un-tar them in linux

4: Perform the “hcisiteconvert” command in your new installation for each site.

5: Do you use email? If so you willl want to set up your email.cfg in the $HCIROOT directory

6: Make sure the host server is running, etc.

7: Set up for SMAT or SMATDB on each site

8: Verify everything is working. The gotcha’s I ran into were subtle differences in tcl that required some re-writing.

9: Set up your master site, if you use one

I’m sure I missed something or glossed over the steps, but that’s about it from a high level. Also make sure you install any patches.

          Hope this helps,

          Jeff

You may need to install 6.0 (or at least configure a directory structure that mimics the old 6.0 root) in order to perform the “hcirootcopy” to upgrade from 6.0 to 6.2.  You should open a ticket with Infor to get their recommendation on approach.  I believe when we did a version upgrade on new hardware, we created a directory structure that mimicked the older root version, copied the sites to that “version”, then installed the new version and performed the normal upgrade process (hcirootcopy) for each site.

            Hope that helps.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for posting! We are planning on configuring a new Linux box with version 7.4 and then install CL 6.2.  Is there any reason why we cannot simply “copy” our current TEST system using VM tools and then upgrade?  Is it important to install “fresh” 6.2 first and then migrate our environment as needed?
