Upgrade from 5.8 to 6.0

We are in the process of planning for the next Cloverleaf upgrade. We are currently on 5.8. Due to resource contraints and other competing projects, we are trying to determine a good time for the upgrade. From the Cloverleaf support perspective, how much longer do you forsee 5.8 will continue to be supported by Lawson/Infor? Thanks.

From my experience, the support policy has been that the current release and one prior version are fully supported (with patches for bug fixes, etc.) while older releases are still supported in terms of production issues and such.  So, essentially, if you are on an older release then 5.8, you will still get support, but you won’t get any enhancements/fixes developed for your version.

I would check with Support to get the “official” line, but this (the aforementioned) has been my experience.

Another note on support of older Integrator versions:  if your complaint

has been fixed in a later release or patch you will be informed that

your solution is to upgrade and/or apply the latest patch.

We try not to get more than one release behind in our shop.

If you get an “official” response on this policy from INFOR

please post it to this forum.

Thanks for all your advice.

This is the response I got back from support:

We officially support current release and one back. So that is 6.0 and 5.8.x.x. We would continue official support of 5.8 until another major release comes out. We just released 6.0 a few months back and have net even released the first patch for that version. At the present time I have heard no discussions for plans for next release. So 5.8 should be supported for a while.
